Nagae shigekazu auckland museums

There is a remarkable balance between manufacture and technical brilliance within the job of Nagae Shigekazu. Following the structure of his native Seto, Nagae’s cultivated process begins with two ikomi molds cast using liquid porcelain. Following searing and bisque-firing, the two eggshell-thin fashion are suspended inside one another entrails the kiln.
